Maybelline Velvet Matte MAT 10 Review/Swatches

Hello Everyone.

Today i am going to review one of the recent launches of Maybelline i.e Velvet Matte Lipsticks. I got the shade MAT 10 which is nice blue based pink which is quite flattering on fair to medium skin tones. Please read on to get the details.

MRP:  475/-
Quantity: 5ml

Packaging: It comes in transparent tube packaging just like the older maybelline colorsentional lip polishes ones. It comes with drop shaped applicator which i find a bit short and narrow to get the good amount of product out of the tube and even it's quite uneasy to apply the lip stick on the lips. However, the packaging is sturdy and easy to carry.

Texture: When it comes to the texture, it a liquidy creamy formula which is not matte at all and a complete disappointment. I thought that it will set into a matte finish within sometime after application but it remain as it is on the lips even after an hour. It does sets into a matte finish and will remain creamy throughout. Although, the formula is quite forgiving on the lips as it does not dries out the lips but hydrates the lips well and you'll feel your lips a bit cushiony after application. However, if try to layer it up, you might feel bit uncomfortable and lips will get bit streachy. I wore it or about 3-4 hours with bit of fading and it does settles into the fine lines. Does not feather but gets patchy at times when you reapply it but i think it happens majorly because of that applicator they have provided.

Colour: Shade MAT 10 is blue based fuschia pink which i find really beautiful and it would flatter fair to medium skin tones and i believe that even duskier beauties will carry it off well. The shade is bit on a cooler side but it doesn't washed me out but it really brightens up my face even when i am bare face and there is no single dot of make up on my face. The shade is really fresh and youthful and can be wore for a day and for evening as well. Gives a medium coverage in a single swipe and layering upto two coats will give a good full coverage. Too much layering will get patchy and lips will feel uneasy and i forgot to mention that if your lips are not exfoliated, it will get clinged to the dry bits and will look ugly.

Swatches:

Wore on:

Pros:
  • Shades are good
  • Pocket friendly, not too much pricey
  • Forgiving on lips

Cons:
  • Not matte at all, a complete fake promise.
  • Gets patchy on layering.
  • Needs too much efforts hen you want to wear it.
Rating: 2.5/5 (As i was disappointed with a matte promise but i am okay with the price and shade)
